Mitac Mio N179 Software
Mitac mio n179 software is a pan-Linux operating system that is designed for the Raspberry Pi range of single board computers. It's written in C and includes a graphical user interface, mouse support, and a wide range of applications which includes office software such as LibreOffice, web browsers such as Firefox, Thunderbird, and Chromium among others. It's one of the cheapest easy to use Raspberry Pi operating systems available on the market with no need for compilation or installation by hand. You can also install it onto any USB drive thanks to its size which varies depending on how much space you need. It's designed for the Raspberry Pi and is not designed to be run on desktop PCs or laptops. The software can be downloaded from the official Mitac mio n179 website. It is still in development so may feature bugs.
The models of Raspberry Pi that can run Mitac mio n179 software include: Raspberry Pi A → 2 GB 32 GB SSD (1,512 MB RAM) → sdcard0 (2GB) → sdcard1 (32GB) and sdcard2 (32GB). Raspberry Pi models A and B. Also fits on a 32 GB flash drive (sold separately). Raspberry Pi 2/3 Raspberry Pi Zero (Compatible with Raspberry Pi1 but no SuperDrive) The two installation images are available for download at the Mitac mio n179 website. The images can be used on any USB drive on PCs without needing the device to be installed first. The first image is a Windows based image that can be used with Windows, Linux, or Mac operating systems. It also works using Puppy Linux with special software added. The second image runs on all operating systems including Linux, MacOS, Android, and Windows via Virtual Machine software such as Oracle VM VirtualBox or QEMU. The images don't contain any software pre-installed. The software can be installed manually with a USB flash drive, or by using a Raspberry Pi to install it. The software can be installed onto any USB drive/SD card on PCs without the need for the device to be installed first. The Raspberry Pi 2 is limited by it's memory and will run out of space quickly if not used appropriately. There is no current version of Mitac mio n179 that supports it and as such you cannot install the operating system onto the device using this image. The Raspberry Pi Zero image is the only image that currently supports the new Raspberry Pi Zero. It works although there is no mouse or keyboard support. RaspBMC and Raspbian do not officially support the new Raspberry Pi Zero and as such cannot be installed on it. However, some third party operating systems such as Raspbian and Ubuntu do include software that enables it to work with the device. The SD card version of Mitac mio n179 can be installed onto a Raspberry Pi Zero using a wired keyboard and mouse (or adding one via USB) to get the same functionality as any other version of Mitac mio n179 on a Raspberry Pi 2/3 or A .
